Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger management
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations
- Manage internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Cook up budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Cook up coordination and management of audits with external auditors
- Support tax preparation and filing activities
- Provide financial insights to leadership for strategic decision-making
- Implement and optimize accounting systems and procedures
- Develop, maintain, and present detailed financial models to evaluate business performance, support strategic initiatives, and assess potential investments
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis on revenue trends, cost structures, cash flow, and profitability drivers
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommendations
- Partner with department leaders to evaluate business initiatives, capital investments, and cost optimization opportunities using data-driven insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CFA or CMA preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Experience processing payroll (Paylocity preferred)
- Complex Payroll Issue resolution
- Point person for HR issues and questions (full time HR Generalist reports to this position)
- Proven track record in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including building and maintaining complex financial models
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems software
- Sage Intacct preferred but not required
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
