Controller

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger management
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations
• Manage internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Cook up budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
• Cook up coordination and management of audits with external auditors
• Support tax preparation and filing activities
• Provide financial insights to leadership for strategic decision-making
• Implement and optimize accounting systems and procedures
• Develop, maintain, and present detailed financial models to evaluate business performance, support strategic initiatives, and assess potential investments
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis on revenue trends, cost structures, cash flow, and profitability drivers
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommendations
• Partner with department leaders to evaluate business initiatives, capital investments, and cost optimization opportunities using data-driven insights

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CFA or CMA preferred but not required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Experience processing payroll (Paylocity preferred)
• Complex Payroll Issue resolution
• Point person for HR issues and questions (full time HR Generalist reports to this position)
• Proven track record in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including building and maintaining complex financial models
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems software
• Sage Intacct preferred but not required
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
