Interim Controller (Temp-to-Hire)Location: Chevy Chase, MD (Onsite)Compensation: $170,000-$190,000 upon conversionJob Type: Contract to Hire / Direct HireCherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is conducting a search for an experienced Interim Controller on behalf of a well-established government contractor. This position offers the opportunity to assume a highly visible leadership role with the potential to transition into a permanent Controller position following a successful engagement period.Primary ResponsibilitiesDirect all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting.Lead and develop a team of approximately 10-12 accounting professionals.Oversee month-end close, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.Manage audit, tax, compliance, and internal control activities.Perform financial analysis and provide reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to government contracting regulations and accounting standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.Prior Controller experience within a government contracting environment.Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA compliance, and government contract accounting.Experience with Deltek Costpoint, JAMIS, or similar government contracting ERP systems.Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.U.S. Citizenship required.This opportunity is ideally suited for a hands-on accounting leader seeking a long-term role within a stable and growing government contracting organization
