Control System EIT/Coordinator

About the role

The Controls Systems EIT/Coordinator position at HDR involves engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity. Assignments range from independent work on small tasks to assisting senior engineers on larger, more complex projects. Tasks may include checking manufacturer's drawings, performing engineering calculations, working on design layouts, verifying code compliance, conducting quality checks, meeting project schedules and budgets, and coordinating work with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Check manufacture's drawings performing engineering calculations.
• Work on design layouts verifying code compliance quality checks meeting project schedules and budget as well as coordination of work with other disciplines as required.
• Typical design work deals with power distribution, motor control, lighting, power system analysis, and grounding.
• Depending on project size, the job may require supervision of designers and CAD operators.
• Projects include power industrial and institutional facilities.
• Must be able to work among other disciplines and have good communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Display attention to accuracy and be detail-oriented.
• Participate in field reviews or construction observations.
• Familiarity with Piping and Instrument Diagrams, hands-on experience using AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD 3D, and other drafting/designing software.
• Experience with control panel design and panel wiring.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 to 4 years of experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Hands-on experience using AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD 3D, and other drafting/designing software.
• Experience with control panel design and panel wiring.
• Experience with SCADA systems, including schematics and loops.
• Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of Control System Coordinator and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Preference given to local candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Skills

Must be able to work among other disciplines and have good communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Display attention to accuracy and be detail-oriented. Familiarity with Piping and Instrument Diagrams, hands-on experience using AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD 3D, and other drafting/designing software. Experience with control panel design and panel wiring. Compensation for this role is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
