About the role

Our Production Workers help with all aspects of turning recycled paper into sheets of corrugated board and getting them to our customers. Think boxes for Domino’s pizzas, moving with Home Depot, Amazon deliveries, Hello Fresh meals, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules
  • Learn to read corrugator lineups
  • Constantly monitor board quality
  • Communicate any quality issues with the crew
  • Make corrections for any board defects
  • Communicate all machine issues to supervisor
  • Keep machine organized and clean
  • Maximize utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed
  • Adhere to the daily production schedule
  • Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals
  • Assist all operators as instructed by supervision
  • Read related MSDS and learn proper response for emergency chemical spills or skin contact
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a state-of-the-art, fast-paced environment
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation
  • Understanding of product layouts and production specifications
  • Knowledge of product quality specifications and quality standards

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
