About The Job

We are seeking qualified professionals to join our Central Control team. Employees are hired and employed by DK Security but are assigned to Central Control, the Security Operations Center supporting State of Michigan facilities. Operators work alongside State of Michigan personnel and under the day-to-day operational direction of Central Control leadership to provide exceptional service.

Shift Opening(s)

Various Days/ 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Must be available to work morning, evening, and night shifts on a 3-to-4-month rotation. Evening and Night shifts will receive an additional $1.00 / hour shift differential increase.

Job Skills / Requirements

  • Intermediate computer skills required – Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, and able to learn new software
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.106717(2)
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana)
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c)
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c)
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, and Adult), or willing to become certified and be physically capable of administering lifesaving care when needed
  • Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary)
  • Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio
  • Must be able to use a smart mobile phone and computer to type, check and respond to emails, and complete online training
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Common Duties Include

  • Receive and process emergency information and requests such as medical emergencies, threats of violence, suspicious activity, suspicious packages, fire, and weather emergencies
  • Initiate emergency response efforts based on available information, established procedures, and best practices
  • Cookordination response efforts and share information with a variety of stakeholders including law enforcement, emergency dispatchers, fire fighters, medics, security guards, facilities supervisors, management, etc.
  • Draft and send emergency response communications and after-action reports
  • Utilize security systems to monitor and facilitate emergency response efforts
  • Other duties as assigned
