We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager in Carrollton, Texas, to support legal and business teams with a wide range of commercial agreements. This role focuses on reviewing, negotiating, and improving contracts tied to construction, leasing, procurement, and vendor relationships while helping reduce contractual risk. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders throughout sourcing, negotiation, and agreement execution to provide practical contract guidance.
- Examine draft contracts, amendments, releases, and service or supplier agreements to identify legal, compliance, and financial risk.
- Mark up and negotiate commercial terms in construction-related and other operational agreements to protect company interests.
- Maintain and refine standard contract forms so they align with current legal standards and internal practices.
- Work closely with the legal team on daily priorities, escalations, and broader departmental initiatives.
- Interpret contract language and technical documentation to confirm obligations, required provisions, and exposure areas.
- Support timely contract turnaround by balancing responsiveness with careful issue spotting and follow-through.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is required.
- At least 5 years of contract management, contract administration, or related legal support experience.
- Background in an in-house legal department or comparable legal environment is preferred.
- Strong experience reviewing, drafting, and redlining commercial agreements.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and related terms, risks, and industry practices is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across business and legal teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and written communication skills with close attention to detail.
