Responsibilities

  • Assist the Complex Solutions Project Manager to ensure projects meet company and customer standards of excellence.
  • Execute selected projects including managing financials, administration, implementation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start up HVAC systems using knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts.
  • Plan, analyze, and complete assigned projects and activities in a timely manner.
  • Perform site surveys, replacements, modifications, and start-ups as requested by customers.
  • Prepare for on-site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, coordinating on-site work, and coordinating with other trades.
  • Maintain assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and document all related activities.
  • Record parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment; return unused resources.
  • Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel.
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job (daily time, progress, duration) and maintain files.
  • Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to customers on assigned projects.
  • Communicate with customers and their representatives (building owners, subcontractors, field support staff).
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns and implementing corrective action.
  • Support Project Managers to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Support Project Developer in procuring equipment and acquiring project materials from local suppliers.
  • Assist Project Manager in planning assigned projects and prioritizing tasks.
  • Attend weekly planning meetings.
  • Supervise work of project installation technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead and motivate others.
  • Ensure quality installation of assigned projects.
  • Assist in estimate development.
  • Support change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, and closing orders.
  • Learn new HVAC technologies and systems.
  • Operate rental equipment (e.g., forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts).
  • Serve as the direct customer contact; service products and equipment on assigned projects.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Stay current on Trane products concerning installation of direct digital control systems.
  • Inspect vehicles for condition and literature supplies.
  • Maintain vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, completed repairs, and maintenance service.
  • Maintain tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
  • Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.
  • Record use, wear, and conditions of company assets.
  • Travel regularly with occasional overnight stays.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and extended weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Typically at least 5–10 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation or General Construction.
  • Technical School or formal training preferred.
  • Background in project management, project coordination, or related work.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads).
  • Experience with Procore preferred.
  • State Contractor Licenses preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer).
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions) in the previous 3 years.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.

Pay

  • Hourly base pay range: $26.35 – $49.92
  • Incentive eligible: No
  • Sales commission eligible: No
