About the Role

Advise project managers on contract strategy and ensure that all aspects of the contract during the execution phase are addressed with the objective of contributing to maximize project revenues. Act as a key integral member of the project team and participate in commercial strategic discussions and decisions to ensure that contracts risks are identified, properly evaluated, and mitigated.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the project (including team work onshore and offshore) with accurate summaries of contract-related matters, including contract synopsis, contract review, contract obligations matrix, and guidance on contract requirements.
  • Prepare and review all relevant contractual correspondence exchanged during project execution to and from the Client, partners, subcontractors, and authorities.
  • Monitor all project deliverables as well as identify risks and opportunities.
  • Assume overall responsibility for all contractual and commercial issues related to management of change, including ensuring claims are issued within the timeframes set out in the Contract and receiving all required internal approvals.
  • Prepare, interface with involved functions, and negotiate any claims against client, joint-venture partners, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in a pertinent discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with contracts.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Subsea contracts preferred; oil & gas (O&G) industry experience required.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience.
  • Understand inter-disciplinary relations and requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to provide open and direct dialogue with stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in law or a commercial discipline is advantageous.
