About the role
This position involves developing complete and accurate contracting packages, obtaining necessary approvals for specialized equipment or services, and monitoring requests and contracts to ensure uninterrupted services.
Responsibilities
- Develop complete and accurate contracting packages.
- Obtain all required approvals for specialized equipment or services such as ADPE and audiovisual.
- Monitor requests and contracts to assure uninterrupted services.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications
- GS-09: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Skills
- Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific implementing instructions.
- Applying knowledge of contract administration principles, practices, and procedures.
- Performing work independently within established procedures to manage assigned contracts.
- Researching procurement regulations to identify solutions to problems.
- Mastering of varied contracting types (including formal advertising, negotiation, fixed-price, and cost-reimbursable).
- Understanding of contract administration principles to independently monitor performance.
- Communicating effectively to advise command departments, answer formal inquiries/protests, explain policy to contractors, and effectively persuade parties to reach compromises on technical, cost, or performance disputes.
