About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Contract Specialist (NH-1102-03) for USSOCOM at MacDill AFB, FL (SOF AT&L). You will lead full-life‑lifecycle, high‑dollar acquisitions that deliver cutting‑edge technology, tactical systems, and R&D directly to Special Operations Forces.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of federal contracting experience with mastery of FAR/DFARS
• Proven complex negotiation and strategy skills
• DAWIA/APDP Contracting certification
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Position subject to drug testing
• Financial Disclosure Statement required
• Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance required
• Knowledge of government and agency‑specific guidelines, statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Knowledge of contracting negotiation, administration, and termination principles, policies, procedures, and technical requirements for a full range of contract types
• Knowledge of price and cost analysis sufficient to review proposals, actual and estimated expenditures, and established rates to determine price reasonableness or negotiation position
• Knowledge of business practices and market conditions applicable to acquisition requirements, assigned contracting/procurement specializations, applicable contract types, and methods/techniques of fact‑finding, analysis, and resolution of complex contracting problems
• Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations

Pay

Salary range: $89,508 – $138,370

Schedule

No telework or remote work authorized; permanent position; relocation may be authorized.
