Primary Location

The position is located in Knoxville, TN. Additional vacancies are available at multiple TVA facilities across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties required of a Contract Security Officer (CSO).
  • Provide physical security services at TVA facilities, including offices, dams, substations, warehouses, and critical infrastructure sites.
  • Ensure continuous staffing coverage for assigned security posts and shifts.
  • Maintain site security, support TVA operational requirements, and serve as the primary point of contact for security personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents.
  • Coordinate responses with law enforcement, emergency services, and TVA personnel when necessary.
  • Ensure all incidents are properly documented and reported.
  • Support contract quality assurance initiatives and performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful field supervisory experience in one or more of the following: Civilian law enforcement, Military service, Security force operations, Commercial or industrial security environments.
  • Acceptance of comparable leadership experience may be considered if documented.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Additional education in criminal justice, security management, law enforcement, military studies, or related fields is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and staffing requirements.
  • Knowledge of access control, patrol operations, incident response, and physical security principles.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling software, and reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs, navigate uneven terrain, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and security incidents.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as required by post assignments.
