Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for clients entering treatment.
- Develop individualized nutrition plans based on each client’s medical, psychological, and recovery needs.
- Provide individual nutrition counseling and follow-up sessions throughout treatment.
- Facilitate nutrition groups focused on recovery, healthy eating, practical nutrition skills, and relapse prevention.
- Collaborate with therapists, medical providers, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Maintain clients’ nutritional progress and revise recommendations as clinically appropriate.
- Absorb clients with meal planning, grocery planning, food exposures, and the development of practical nutrition skills.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
- Provide nutrition education to clients and families when clinically appropriate.
- Absorb with menu review and development to ensure meals support therapeutic and nutritional goals.
- Promote a supportive, recovery-oriented relationship with food while maintaining evidence-based nutrition practices.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Dietitian in the state of Florida.
- Experience in eating disorder treatment required.
- Experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Experience conducting nutrition assessments and developing individualized nutrition plans.
- Ability to facilitate educational or therapeutic groups.
- Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and recovery-oriented care.
- Ability to maintain any professional liability coverage and credentialing documentation required for contracted providers.
Contractor Details
- Independent contractor position.
- Schedule and service hours will be established based on program needs and contractor availability.
- This contracted position is not eligible for employee benefits.
