(Contract) Operations Transformation Consultant
Location: Remote (Houston, TX Preferred)
Travel: Approximately 25–40% to project sites and corporate offices

About the role
Our client is seeking a Construction Operations Transformation Consultant to support a large-scale operational improvement initiative focused on standardizing business processes, improving project execution, and enhancing operational reporting across a national construction organization. Working closely with operations, project management, finance, project controls, field leadership, and technology teams, this consultant will document current business processes, facilitate future-state design, develop business requirements, and support enterprise transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong consulting and process improvement experience with an understanding of construction or project-based operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead business process discovery sessions with office and field stakeholders.
- Document current-state and future-state operational workflows.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews and cross-functional workshops.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Develop business, functional, and reporting requirements.
- Support evaluation of business processes and technology solutions.
- Prepare executive presentations, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
- Partner with project teams to improve operational consistency and organizational effectiveness.
- Support process standardization and change management initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in business consulting, operational excellence, process improvement, digital transformation, or project management.
- Experience documenting complex business processes and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting construction, EPC, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, or engineering organizations.
- Familiarity with project controls, field operations, production reporting, materials management, or project lifecycle processes.
- Experience supporting enterprise software implementations or operational transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Power BI, Procore, Viewpoint Vista (Trimble), Microsoft Power Platform, or similar enterprise technologies is a plus.
- Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or comparable process improvement certification is preferred.
