About the Role

This position is for a Travel RN/LVN on the Medical/Renal Unit (6th Floor, Unit 617) at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. The role requires a strong medical-surgical nursing background.

Unit Details

• Location: San Antonio, TX
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• EMR: Meditech
• Scrub Color: Navy

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• Strong medical-surgical nursing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Previous Meditech experience

Typical Procedures & Responsibilities

The unit commonly performs and manages:

• IV starts and IV therapy
• Wound care
• Comprehensive patient assessments
• Implementation of nursing interventions
• Drainage device management
• Central line management
• Blood product administration
• Patient safety and quality-care practices

Unit Expectations

• RN/LVN should be familiar with National Patient Safety Goals
• Unit-specific guidelines and policies will be reviewed during orientation

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs required
• Closed-toe shoes required
• Tattoos must be appropriately covered
• Professional clinical attire is expected
