Responsibilities

  • Represent and protect Hilb in the drafting and negotiation of various types of agreements with Hilb’s employee benefits clients.
  • The Contracts Manager works with Sales, Service, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Legal to reach the desired business goals of Hilb, while managing the firm’s risk.
  • Successfully complete the drafting, negotiation, and execution of client agreements for Hilb’s Employee Benefits platform.
  • Serve as the face of Hilb and provide one of the first customer experiences for new clients.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of Forms 5500 and plan documents on behalf of Hilb clients.
  • Participate as a Team member in a fast-paced, growing sales environment open to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • College degree required.
  • JD preferred, but not required.
  • 1 to 3 years of compliance / legal experience involving contract drafting and negotiation required; proficiency with client service agreements is ideal.
  • Experience with contract management software required; IntelAgree experience is a plus.
  • Some exposure to insurance brokerage and consulting and/or health and welfare plan compliance.
  • Understanding of key general commercial contract terms such as confidentiality, indemnification, limits on liability, warranties, data privacy, etc.
  • Excellent legal analysis and problem-solving skills that will enable you to function as the primary representative in the resolution of negotiation issues with clients and their counsel.
  • Ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving contracting issues and developing creative solutions that address client concerns and protect Hilb.
  • Ability to provide leadership in the deals you negotiate and serve as the subject matter expert for contractual issues and questions from internal business partners.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment.
  • Ability to fulfill all job requirements as outlined above, during, and outside of usual business hours, and to do normal travel to carry out responsibilities.
