About the role
A Contract Analyst coordinates, researches, analyzes, and negotiates assigned projects, including capital and non-capital service agreements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates demonstrations/evaluations with vendors and departments, ensuring appropriate approvals have been obtained.
- Develops and utilizes assessment protocols for research, evaluation, vendor selection, and acquisition.
- Ensures orders are placed promptly for related evaluations when requests comply with policy.
- Evaluates and analyzes GPO, Virginia Alliance, and Centra agreements; provides reports to demonstrate compliance and savings.
- Functions within departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Identifies alternate vendors and products to achieve process efficiencies and cost reductions.
- Manages the allocation of capital requests to departmental resources and provides support as needed.
- Manages the organization and vendors during the RFP/RFI/RFQ process.
- Manages the sale, donation, or disposal of used equipment.
- Maximizes current technological resources of the supply chain.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Participates as a team leader on projects by ensuring proper meeting scheduling, prior planning, and minutes.
- Performs financial analysis and conducts contract negotiations for assigned projects in collaboration with the Director and Requesting Department.
- Adapts to changing priorities with flexibility.
- Prepares purchase orders, reconciles discrepancies with vendors, and coordinates credits, returns, or replacements of defective/damaged items through the Materials Management Information System.
- Provides constructive input to departmental and organizational process improvements.
- Ensures accurate pricing within the item file according to contract agreements; reconciles pricing discrepancies.
- Supports the OR/Purchasing Committee, including budgets and tracking purchases.
- Supports purchasing functions related to construction projects.
Qualifications
- Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in a business field.
- Preferred Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in purchasing and negotiating contracts.
