Content Marketing Manager, Core Platform
About the role
We’re hiring the person who owns content for Conversion, the agentic marketing automation platform used by enterprise SaaS companies like Plaid, ClickHouse, Productboard, and People Data Labs. The audience is MOps directors and managers—smart, skeptical marketers who build campaigns for a living and can spot slop instantly. Your job is to make us the thing they read on purpose.
You’ll craft the category story (why MOps teams resent legacy platforms and why migrating is now viable), produce thought leadership under our founders’ names and your own, own organic search (both traditional and AI-driven), and run webinars and partner programs that put us in front of buyers. Every piece ships with a distribution plan, and you’ll set the quality bar for all content at Conversion.
This is an in-person role, five days a week in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evangelize the category narrative: why enterprise MOps teams are leaving legacy platforms like Marketo, Pardot, and HubSpot, and why now is the time to switch.
- Create thought leadership and founder-branded content (LinkedIn, articles, etc.) with a strong, opinionated voice tailored to MOps directors and CMOs.
- Own organic search end-to-end, ranking for high-intent queries and ensuring we’re cited in AI-generated answers (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude).
- Design and execute webinars and partner programming, from topic selection to promotion to follow-up, leveraging the tight-knit MOps community.
- Build distribution plans for every piece of content, spanning email, LinkedIn, communities, sales enablement, and paid channels where justified.
- Set and enforce the quality standard for all written content at Conversion, including reviewing work from leadership.
Qualifications
- You write constantly and can share published work with a clear point of view.
- Experience marketing to technical or operational B2B audiences that resist traditional marketing.
- Ability to switch registers between company voice, founder ghostwriting, and your own byline.
- Hands-on experience owning content or demand gen at an early-stage company, from ideation to distribution to iteration.
- Strong SEO skills and awareness of how AI search is reshaping organic discovery.
- Comfort talking to customers and turning conversations into publishable insights.
- Strong opinions about B2B content—what works, what doesn’t, and who’s doing it badly.
Nice-to-haves
- Firsthand experience with Marketo, Pardot, or HubSpot and the pain points of legacy platforms.
- Track record of running webinars or partner content programs you’d defend as high-quality.
- Proficiency using AI tools to accelerate work without sacrificing voice or originality.
- Knowledge of B2B brands (beyond the usual suspects) that excel at content and storytelling.
- Experience building a category narrative from scratch or eagerness to do so.
- Enthusiasm for an in-office culture where the team collaborates over shared lunches.
