About the role

The Content Manager, Brand Communications is responsible for developing and executing content that strengthens Trident Seafoods’ brand, supports strategic business priorities, and advances the company’s reputation across internal and external audiences. This role serves as both a strategist and hands-on content creator, producing clear, compelling, audience-appropriate communications that reflect Trident’s voice, values, and business objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and executes integrated content strategies aligned to brand, reputation, recruiting, community, and business priorities.
  • Identifies, develops, and produces compelling enterprise-wide stories in partnership with cross-functional teams (operations, fleet, HR, public affairs, marketing, etc.).
  • Translates complex or sensitive topics into clear, credible, audience-appropriate communications.
  • Writes and edits high-quality content across formats (web, leadership messaging, campaigns, email, social, intranet, talking points, FAQs).
  • Maintains strong editorial standards to ensure accuracy, quality, brand alignment, and audience relevance.
  • Pairs with stakeholders and subject matter experts to surface opportunities, shape messaging, and deliver effective communications.
  • Advises on content strategy, message adaptation, and channel selection to drive engagement across key audiences.
  • Plans and optimizes multi-channel distribution (web, social, intranet, email), adapting content for usability, readability, and impact.
  • Applies best practices for search, discoverability, and emerging AI-driven environments to improve content performance and visibility.
  • Tracks performance metrics and continuously refine content strategy using analytics, audience insights, and business priorities.
  • Regularly works onsite to build strong team connections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $100,000 to $140,000. Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Full time employees may be eligible for discretionary/performance-based incentives, medical, dental and vision insurance plans, optional HRA/HSA, telemedicine, employee assistance and wellness programs, disability programs, basic life and AD&D, and a 401(k) plan with a company match, paid time off (PTO), 10 paid holidays each year, and paid parental leave. For full-time employees, the initial PTO benefit starts at 20 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, front loaded on the first of the year, initially prorated quarterly based on hire date. Commuter programs are also available.

Travel/On-Call Requirements

Travel may occasionally be required, up to 10% of the time.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Affairs, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate communications, content strategy, editorial content, digital content, brand storytelling, or a related field.

Preferred Education & Experiences

  • Experience with SEO, AEO, GEO, or related search and discoverability practices.
  • Experience in reputation-sensitive, regulated, industrial, food, agriculture, fisheries, manufacturing, or mission-driven environments.
  • Experience supporting employer brand, recruiting communications, community engagement, public affairs, or product and corporate storytelling.
  • Familiarity with web CMS platforms, SharePoint, social content workflows, and analytics or reporting tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA)

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills across multiple formats and audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to interview subject matter experts and convert complex information into compelling, usable content.
  • Strong working knowledge of digital content strategy and multichannel communications.
  • Familiarity with AI tools used in content development and a practical understanding of how AI is changing content discoverability and search behavior.
  • Experience creating simple visual assets using Canva, Adobe, or similar tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Excellent storytelling ability and strong editorial judgment.
  • Strong audience awareness and channel fluency.
  • Strong creative eye and visual communication sensibility.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous or fast-moving environments and move work forward with sound judgment.
  • Curiosity about AI applications in communications and a practical, forward-looking mindset.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build trust across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Work Ability Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for long periods and often sit at a desk in an office environment.
