About the role

This position is in the Eligibility and Enrollment section within the Patient Business Service Department at VA Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. The employee serves as the Enrollment Coordinator for the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Enrollment Coordinator for the facility.
  • Manages personnel functions such as recruitment, leave administration, and disciplinary actions.
  • Applies policies or procedures to resolve administrative actions.
  • Uses automated systems to manage, track, or report program data.
  • Supervises administrative support staff by assigning work and evaluating performance.
  • Manages travel arrangements for day trips and occasional overnight trips.
  • Spends time performing keyboarding duties and speaking on the phone for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-8) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position.
  • Specialized experience includes supervising administrative support staff by assigning work and evaluating performance; managing personnel functions such as recruitment, leave administration, and/or disciplinary actions; applying policies or procedures to resolve administrative actions; and using automated systems to manage, track, or report program data.
  • Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
  • Must meet the minimum qualifications of the position, including a final rating of 80 or more before any Veterans preference points.

Qualifications

  • To qualify for this position at the GS-9 grade level, you must meet the following criteria:

  • There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
