About the role
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a senior level Associate in the Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice. The position is full-time and candidates can be based in Miami, DC, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix or Dallas.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients, large and small, from various industries across the country
- Provide legal advice on financial services regulatory and compliance issues including mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and earned wage access (EWA) products, and FinTech products and structures
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
- Contribute to the growth and success of the Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of financial services regulatory and compliance experience in the areas of mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and earned wage access (EWA) products, and FinTech products and structures
- Experience with state licensing, product development, compliance, and bank partnership models
- Knowledge of key financial services laws and regulations (e.g., TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA)
- Enforcement experience is a plus as well as experience with money services businesses and payment systems
