About the role
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a senior level Associate in the Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice. The position is full-time and can be based in Miami, DC, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix or Dallas.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients, large and small, from various industries across the country.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on financial services regulatory and compliance issues, including mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and earned wage access (EWA) products, and FinTech products and structures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, participate in client meetings, and manage projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies.
- Conduct research and analysis on financial services laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA.
- Participate in enforcement activities and provide legal support in investigations and litigation.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different practices and departments to ensure comprehensive solutions for clients.
- Represent GT at industry events and conferences to stay informed about emerging trends and developments in the field.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of financial services regulatory and compliance experience in areas such as mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as BNPL and EWA, and FinTech products and structures.
- Experience with state licensing, product development, compliance, and bank partnership models.
- Knowledge of key financial services laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA.
- Experience with money services businesses and payment systems.
