About the role

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a senior level Associate in the Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice. The position is full-time and candidates can be based in Miami, DC, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix or Dallas offices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients, large and small, from various industries across the country.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on financial services regulatory and compliance issues, including mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and earned wage access (EWA) products, and FinTech products and structures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, participate in client meetings, and manage client expectations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on financial services laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA.
  • Assist in the development of new products and services, and provide guidance on compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Participate in enforcement activities and assist in the resolution of regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in different offices and jurisdictions to ensure consistent and effective legal representation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of financial services regulatory and compliance experience in mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as BNPL and EWA products, and FinTech products and structures.
  • Experience with state licensing, product development, compliance, and bank partnership models.
  • Knowledge of key financial services laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA.
  • Experience with money services businesses and payment systems.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
