Consumer Finance Associate (Mid - Senior Level)
About the role
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a mid- to senior-level Associate in the Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice. The Associate can be based in our Miami, DC, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, or Dallas offices and will have the opportunity to work with clients—large and small—from a variety of industries across the country.
Greenberg Traurig’s Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice comprises more than 80 attorneys throughout the United States and in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Our department’s global platform distinctively positions us to address the needs of both domestic and international clients.
Responsibilities
Candidates will take on significant responsibility, demonstrate a strong commitment to client service, and be diligent, proactive, and team-oriented.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of financial services regulatory and compliance experience, particularly in the areas of:
- Mortgage lending and servicing
- Consumer finance
- Commercial finance
- Alternative lending products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and earned wage access (EWA) products
- FinTech products and structures
- Significant experience with state licensing
- Knowledge of key financial services laws and regulations (e.g., TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA)
- Enforcement experience is a plus
- Experience with money services businesses and payment systems is a plus
- Strong academic background and excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Admitted to or eligible for admission in the relevant jurisdiction
Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
