The role involves leading cross-functional projects spanning the front office, middle office, and back office, ensuring seamless integration and data flow across the hedge fund ecosystem. You will be responsible for driving technology and process transformation initiatives, managing system integrations, and ensuring Geneva remains the trusted source of truth for portfolio accounting and NAV reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of strategic and tactical technology initiatives related to portfolio accounting, data integration, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with investment, operations, and finance teams to define business requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and deliverables using structured PM frameworks (Agile/Waterfall as appropriate).
- Track milestones, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate project risks and blockers.
- Communicate project status, issues, and decisions to senior stakeholders through regular steering committee updates.
- Coordinate with technology, vendors, and data teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Own Geneva‑related initiatives — upgrades, new fund setups, configuration changes, and data integrations.
- Define and manage data interfaces between Geneva and other systems such as Order Management Systems (OMS), Portfolio Management Systems (PMS), Risk Systems, and Data Warehouse / Reporting Layer.
- Document and optimize data flow from trade capture to NAV production, ensuring data integrity and reconciliation between systems.
- Collaborate with business users to validate Geneva outputs — positions, valuations, accruals, and performance reports.
- Partner with Accounting and Operations to troubleshoot data and workflow discrepancies.
Skills
- Deep understanding of Geneva data model, including Security Master attributes (ISIN, CUSIP, ticker, asset class, maturity, coupon, issuer, currency, etc.) and Trade attributes (trade date, settle date, quantity, price, counterparty, commission, FX rate, etc.).
- Experienced managing reference data and market data feeds.
- Strong grasp of fund accounting principles, P&L attribution, and NAV validation.
- Familiarity with data integration tools, APIs, and Geneva reporting (RSLs, Extracts, or Adapters).
- Understanding of how Geneva interacts with pricing, risk, and investor reporting systems.
- Experience in Finance Industry (Banks, Funds et al.).
- Strong communications skills and interpersonal skills.
- Good to have: Data Analysis (basic), Excel (strong), SQL (working knowledge).
