About the role
Launch your consulting career while helping shape sustainable infrastructure, energy solutions, and safer workplaces. ERM is seeking a motivated Consultant, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to join our team in Hartford, CT or Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and improvement of EHS management systems
- Conduct EHS compliance audits and manage corrective actions
- Perform risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses
- Provide onsite EHS compliance support at client facilities
- Develop and implement environmental programs (air, waste, stormwater, wastewater, and spill prevention)
- Lead or support industrial hygiene and exposure assessments
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical, scalable solutions
- Manage multiple projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
- Collaborate with ERM’s global technical network to solve complex challenges
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business
- Contribute to the growth of ERM’s EHS and Sustainable Operations practice
- Design and direct corporate H&S strategies across diverse industries
- Manage projects to meet scope, budget, and schedule while exceeding client expectations
- Develop and deliver training
- Participate in EHS audits
- Build and nurture client relationships to drive repeat business and expand ERM’s market presence
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, safety, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 – 3+ years of EHS, regulatory compliance, or sustainability experience (industry or consulting)
- Experience implementing or maintaining EHS management systems
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data tracking tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Driver’s License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Pay
The anticipated annual base pay for this role is $75,646–$96,414 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
