About the Role

ABEL Construction Company is looking for a skilled Superintendent to join our growing team. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are ready to contribute to exciting projects, we’d love to meet you!

Responsibilities

  • Ensure work is completed per schedule and within the budget.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork and keep accurate records.
  • Perform assigned work in accordance with OSHA, Customer and ABEL Safety Standards.
  • Maintain all of the company’s tools and equipment in a secure manner.
  • Overall coordination with all subcontractors onsite and running weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Daily communication and providing updates with the Project Manager and Owner Representative.
  • Organizing and managing crews for self-performed tasks.
  • Maintain currency in First Aid and CPR training.
  • Complete and turn in to the office all required paperwork.
  • Counsel field employees in Abel Quality Policy awareness.
  • Attend bi-annual superintendent quality improvement team meetings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints.
  • Job scheduling & allotted time.
  • Utilizing project management software for daily reports, safety reports, and reviewing project documents.
  • Knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
  • Supervisor Quality Improvement Procedures.
  • Working knowledge of tools & equipment.
  • Manpower scheduling & allotment.
  • 5 years working in the construction industry.
  • OSHA “Ten” for the Construction Industry certification (to be completed in the first year of employment).
  • Current First Aid /CPR certification.

Location

This position requires the candidate to work on-site in the Louisville, KY area.
