Responsibilities
- Fieldwork to document as-built conditions and extent of damage to structures.
- Evaluate conceptual and detailed repair estimates for scope and pricing accuracy.
- Understand historical data and pricing for the development and evaluation of repair and replacement cost estimates.
- Affirm site exposures/construction risks and analyze cost implications.
- Develop rough order of magnitude cost estimates based on identified costs and associated risks.
- Assist in the preparation of work scopes, instructions to bidders, bid forms, or solicitation of relevant information.
- Perform research to support opinions.
- Communicate with clients, interface with governing officials, contractors, and consultants.
- Retain and develop client relationships.
- Travel as needed, on short notice, as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience (variety of public and private projects).
- Proven analytical and interpretive skills in preparing comprehensive and accurate construction cost estimates (detailed and conceptual).
- Experience in property loss estimating.
- Strong project management skills.
- Extensive experience with Xactimate, RS Means, Microsoft Excel, and Word, on-screen takeoff software, or other construction estimating software.
- Restoration industry experience desirable.
- Remediation experience including fire and smoke damage restoration, structural drying, mold remediation, and clerk of works services.
- Excellent math and computational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- IICRC certifications desirable.
Pay
$70k – $110k MKA offers a competitive salary (commensurate with experience) and benefits program including a generous 401K match, ESOP participation, medical, dental, vision, and paid vacation.
