About The Position

The Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Construction Project Coordinator position. This position will be assigned multiple projects of varying scope and size, including a wide range of construction projects encompassing both DOA-led and tenant-managed initiatives. Individuals in this position will work with multiple Airport Program Administrators and Engineers to help facilitate a wide range of project related tasks for these projects. It is essential the incumbent understands how to budget time accordingly and prioritize work so that tasks are completed on time.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Procore or other construction management software for submittal review and processing, Request for Information (RFI) responses, schedule review, meeting minutes, drawing updates, specification referencing, and the documentation of all project related items.
  • Utilize airport mapping tools.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Draft letters and emails.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings both in-person and virtually.
  • Operate company vehicles on public/non-secured roadways and on a secured airport ramp.
  • Facilitate communication between contractors, County, Federal, and State agencies, DOA staff, and others to ensure timely and accurate information is provided.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Educational requirement: Equivalent to two (2) years of college level course work in pre-engineering, construction technology or a related field AND five (5) years of full-time building and/or general construction project experience.
  • Experience substitution: Experience in a field directly related to the work may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possession of valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment. I.C.B.O. or other nationally recognized certification in at least one of the following areas: building, combination dwelling, structural, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical may be required.
  • Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
  • Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
  • Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.
  • Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ability to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment and drive a motor vehicle in order to visit work sites and attend meetings.
  • Strength and stamina to inspect various construction projects and facilities.
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
  • Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment and to drive a motor vehicle in order to visit work sites and attend meetings.
  • Must be capable of climbing ladders, and getting to hard to reach locations.

Skills

Skills:

  • Understanding of construction management and project coordination.
  • Proficiency in Procore or similar construction management software.
  • Knowledge of airport mapping tools.
  • Ability to prepare reports and draft correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
