About the Role

AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant in our Phoenix or Los Angeles offices. This role supports moderately complex project(s) with general supervision, preparing various financial reports and providing analysis and recommendations. You will maintain records according to generally accepted accounting practices, perform audits, generate special financial reports, and review projects for accurate revenue recognition. This is a matrixed environment, reporting to the local Project Executive and Regional Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare various financial reports and provide analysis and recommendations based on findings.
  • Maintain records according to generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Perform audits and generate special financial reports.
  • Review projects for accurate revenue recognition and provide project analysis and recommendations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, or relevant curriculum and 2 years of accounting experience, or
  • A/AS and 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • HSD/GED and 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience in construction project accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in construction accounting and construction financial documentation.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with CMiC or Textura.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate ownership of processes.
