About the Role
Pennsy Supply, a CRH company, is seeking a Paving Foreperson to oversee daily paving activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
- Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRACK, etc.).
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments; maintain time and production records.
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations and procedures.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules, using knowledge of capacity of workers and equipment, and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product/job progression.
- Adept and knowledgeable in all aspects of work activities being supervised, including all paving equipment.
- Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials as needed.
- Confer with superintendents, plant personnel, other supervisors, and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures, interpret specifications, and coordinate various phases of paving.
- Inspect work in progress, review materials used and costs, and adjust work schedules as appropriate.
- Direct appropriate traffic control methods and techniques wherever necessary.
- Complete required paperwork on a daily, weekly, and as-needed basis.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must submit to a drug screen, background check, and DOT physical.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Current driver’s license and reliable source of transportation.
- Able to work various times during day, night, or weekend hours at different locations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in the construction industry along with supervisory experience.
