Construction Manager, Railroad
What You Will Do
GFT is seeking a Railroad Construction Manager to join our Construction Services group in Los Angeles, CA. At GFT, we're not just engineering the future; we're meticulously building it. What You'll Be Challenged To Do
- Inspect and oversee construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications
- Perform quality control inspection and documentation on railroad projects
- Material testing oversight
- Construction cost tracking and estimates
- Cookordination between construction project stakeholders
This role requires 90% travel. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- General construction knowledge
- Research plans, specification, material testing procedures and local agency requirements
- Prepare and maintain daily and periodic documentation and records throughout the project
- Visits to project sites to inspect and document field work performed
- Preparation of technical reports
- Provide observation and inspection of the construction work and contractor operations
- Maintain the daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports
- Maintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance
Education | Experience
- Minimum high school diploma
- 5+ years of general construction experience
- Ability to travel 90% of the time
- Valid drivers license required
- Must successfully complete background check and drug screening
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
What We Prefer You Bring
- Experience in highway or railroad construction
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, HeadLight, etc.)
- Construction Management or Civil Engineering Degree

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $100,000-$145,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
