About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates the global AWS infrastructure that powers the cloud. As a Data Center Construction Manager you will work on the construction of Amazon data centers, collaborating with operations, networking, controls, security, and commissioning teams. You will act as Amazon’s owner’s representative on‑site, driving cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction vendors and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Directly interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project close‑out/punch‑list phases.
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
- Create construction project scopes and requests for proposals.
- Perform financial analysis of construction projects.
- Manage construction projects aimed at increasing data‑center resiliency.
- Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
- Manage construction documents, including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
- Ensure construction project quality control.
- Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
- Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root‑cause failure analysis of equipment failures.
- Provide leadership within internal and external teams supporting the data center.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of critical data‑center equipment.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Understanding of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings across all domains.

Pay
Base salary range: $111,300 – $186,100 USD annually.
