Job Responsibilities
- Provide early identification of construction complexities that will influence the delivery of Early Works sites
- Assess Early Works projects for constructability and advise leadership on improvements to optimize cost, reduce risk, and enhance schedule
- Conduct value engineering as it applies to scope, schedule, and budget
- Review prior projects to gather lessons learned and apply findings to new projects
- Provide regular internal reporting of project status and costs to meet established KPIs
- Serve as the single source of construction expertise during the design phase of Early Works projects and communicate delivery status and progress
- Work with the AE firm as the advocate for constructability and voice of the future
- General Contractor to ensure construction details are executable and cost effective
- Review and comment on plans and exhibits for constructability
- Identify construction implications of stakeholder requirements across Land Development, Security, Legal, Design, Construction, Operations, regulatory agencies, and outside consultants and contractors
- Cook up meetings with design teams, execution managers, land development managers, and other relevant parties
- Support regulatory agency, stakeholder, and community engagement activities and negotiations for new builds and existing facilities
- Manage and recognize impacts on cost control, schedule management, safety program implementation, and construction compliance
- Ensure clearly defined quality standards are captured in construction documents
Requirements
- 15 or more years of progressive responsibility in the development and delivery of complex capital projects and programs
- 15 or more years of experience in heavy civil construction
- 5 or more years of construction program and project management experience in the United States, including cross-coordination amongst disciplines
- 10 or more years of experience in earthworks
- 10 or more years of experience in the review and interpretation of construction drawings
- 10 or more years of experience in management of project cost and schedule
- Experience with mission critical facilities or large-scale construction projects is required
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field with 5 or more years of related experience, or equivalent experience
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation is preferred
- Strong background in construction management with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive desired outcomes
- Deep knowledge and experience in heavy civil construction with a broad variety of construction means and methods
- Proficiency in review and interpretation of construction drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in business English; additional regional languages are a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global organization as a self-starter who is process-minded and collaborative
- Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills with both internal and external teams
- Demonstrated ability to dive deep into project delivery, apply creative problem solving, and push past barriers to achieve full project execution
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for document review and markup
- Experience with Primavera P6 for schedule management is preferred
