What You Will Do
- Promote safety through proactive involvement in safety training, adherence to safety policies, and inclusion of company safety initiatives in project execution
- Review and understand scope of work and all aspects of construction for each specific project
- Be an active participant in constructability reviews of upcoming projects
- Work with project engineering leader, project managers, technical COE’s, procurement and mill teams to determine the appropriate construction strategy for projects
- Work with contractors to effectively coordinate construction activities for projects
- Work with project engineering leader, project managers and contractors to validate execution plans and schedules for projects
- Review projects and detect gaps in the construction process and work with project teams/contractors to develop means to mitigate gaps
- Assist project teams with checkout and start-up of their respective projects
- Provide construction updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Communicate with project owners to ensure alignment to project goals
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Engineering OR Four (4) or more years of construction management experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Experience validating existing estimates and scheduling projects
- Experience managing construction projects from start to finish
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word (i.e. creating documents), Excel (i.e. creating/updating spreadsheets), and Outlook (i.e. scheduling meeting invites & emailing)
- Must work extended work schedules during critical execution periods, mill outages and while being on weekend/holiday call
What Will Put You Ahead
- 10+ years of construction management experience in manufacturing
- Experience using MS Project and/or Primavera
- Experience with constructability reviews for various project types
