About the role
Join a collaborative team supporting one of the nation's largest airport capital improvement programs. As a Construction Logistics Specialist IV, you will play a critical role in coordinating construction activities across multiple airport projects to minimize operational impacts and maintain safe, efficient airport operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate construction logistics between airport operations, project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of multiple concurrent capital projects.
- Review project phasing, logistics plans, schedules, and construction sequencing to identify potential conflicts across multiple projects.
- Recommend solutions that improve construction coordination while minimizing impacts to airport operations, tenants, and passengers.
- Identify opportunities for more efficient work packaging and procurement strategies to reduce construction conflicts and operational disruptions.
- Maintain awareness of current and upcoming airport construction activities, schedules, and project milestones.
- Analyze look-ahead schedules to identify utility shutdowns, barricades, roadway impacts, and other operational constraints.
- Collaborate with utility shutdown specialists and engineering support teams to recommend appropriate scheduling and sequencing.
- Review Area Shutdown Requests to ensure compliance with airport standards and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems, reports, dashboards, and recordkeeping tools supporting construction logistics activities.
- Prepare briefing materials, executive reports, monthly summaries, and annual performance reports.
- Attend daily coordination meetings with project teams to gather project activity updates and communicate operational impacts.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, project schedules, Gantt charts, and logistics plans.
- Facilitate communication among project stakeholders to ensure timely distribution of construction activity information.
- Collaborate with third-party agencies and external organizations whose work may impact airport operations.
- Support the CALM Manager by maintaining accurate project information and ensuring construction logistics documentation remains current.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance coordination, communication, and overall program delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of airport development projects.
- May be required to work overtime and various shifts based on operational and project requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of twenty (20) years of professional experience supporting complex construction programs, preferably within airport facilities or similarly complex infrastructure environments.
- Experience coordinating multiple concurrent construction projects while minimizing operational impacts.
- Strong understanding of construction logistics, project phasing, sequencing, and construction delivery methods.
- Ability to identify construction conflicts and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, schedules, maps, Gantt charts, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of airport operations, utility shutdown coordination, barricade planning, and tenant impact management is highly preferred.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple high-profile assignments.
- Strong written, verbal, editing, proofreading, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Knowledge of wayfinding concepts, mapping technologies, and digital information management.
- Experience combining and formatting multiple digital document types into concise, professional reports and presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Experience using Bluebeam Revu.
- Collaborative team player committed to information sharing and cross-functional communication.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or a closely related technical field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
