About the role
The Construction Logistics Specialist IV supports the team in managing construction activities across multiple projects and contractors at LAX. Key responsibilities include identifying potential overlaps, providing recommendations for efficient packaging and procurement, and interfacing with utility shutdown experts.
Responsibilities
- Identify areas of potential overlap and recommend opportunities for more efficient and less disruptive packaging and procurement.
- Stay current with project scopes and schedules, extract look-ahead data, and provide recommendations for utility shutdowns.
- Interface with third-party entities and engineering technical support to ensure timely and accurate utility shutdowns.
- Provide review and comment on Area Shutdown Requests to ensure compliance with LAWA standards.
- Develop and maintain tracking and record-keeping tools.
- Produce progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
- Attend multiple daily project meetings to gather and disseminate activity information.
- Read and interpret project plans, schedules, and Gantt charts.
- Liaison with third-party entities whose construction efforts may overlap.
- Contribute to the advancement of program goals through productive collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Support the CALM Manager in producing Monthly and Yearly Team reports for executive management.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date project-related data for the CALM Team.
Requirements
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and design skills, including the ability to present concepts verbally.
- Proven accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail in job performance.
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to explain complex issues to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure on high-profile, complicated assignments.
- Understanding of construction delivery methods and project management principles.
- Knowledge of wayfinding concepts and mapping technologies.
- Experience with MS Office Suite and Bluebeam.
Qualifications
- At least 20 years of relevant experience, preferably in airport building programs or similar complex building projects.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, aviation, business, engineering, construction management, planning, or a related technical field.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Bluebeam.
- Ability to read and interpret design plans, maps, and construction language.
