The Night Shift Area Resident Manager (NS-ARM) will report to the Principal Construction Inspector and work in conjunction with the Roadway Area Resident Manager Lead. The role covers projects within the CTA, including all Terminals, Landside areas (Parking Structures), and Airside areas (AOA Apron and Gates).
Responsibilities
- Lead the Nightly Huddle at 2330 hrs with Airport Operations support.
- Distribute the Roadway Bulletin, Terminal Bulletin, and Daily Roadway Map to attendees of the Nightly Huddle.
- Perform "Site Checks" at each location within the CTA, Terminals, and AOA locations with active construction activities, including:
- Checking the number of personnel deployed.
- Verifying the correct ASR is "in hand" with the Project Superintendent and posted on the dash of all vehicles.
- Ensuring correct barricading and signage are in place per approved ASR.
- Confirming all scheduled deliveries are contained within the approved ASR and coordinated at Nightly Huddle.
- Communicating with the Safety and Inspection team regarding compliance of scheduled work.
- Contact LAWA Airport Police and Airport Operations to remove vehicles or equipment parked curbside without the correct paperwork or "No Cite / No Tow" authorization.
- Take photos of each deployed project, capturing vehicle and equipment deployment, active construction, traffic and passenger movement, and important barricades and signage. Label photos with descriptions and date/time stamps.
- Produce a Nightly Report with a written narrative and photographic component, including personnel count, late flight information, and other relevant documents. Post reports to the CALMSHARE site, save on the V Drive, and distribute to stakeholders.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and schedule for all active projects within the CTA, Terminals, and AOA locations.
- Ensure all construction in public areas has appropriate barricades and signage as per the approved ASR. Address deficiencies with contractors and report to the CALM Sign Shop Manager if additional signage is required.
- Work with The Development Group (TDG), Facilities Maintenance Group (FMUG), Airport Operations (OPS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Information Technology Group (IMTG), TDG Safety/Inspections, and LAWA Airport Police Traffic Officers to develop protocols for orderly shutdowns with minimal disruption.
- Meet regularly with the CALM Area Resident Manager - Lead and make recommendations concerning procedures, protocols, and staffing.
- Develop appropriate tracking and record-keeping tools.
- May be assigned additional responsibilities beyond the outlined role.
Requirements
- 20+ years of experience, preferably on airport building programs or similar complex building programs.
- Minimum of 3 years of airport experience or 5 years of experience in other critical environment facilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field (required).
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Relevant professional licensure and/or certifications (e.g., AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP) are strongly preferred.
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital platforms and tools (e.g., website CMS, email marketing, social media management, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated planning, controlling, organizing, and leadership skills.
- Experience engaging with diverse communities, government agencies, and the media.
- Familiarity with public project lifecycles, phasing, and communication requirements.
