About the role

The Construction Logistical Specialist is responsible for maintaining the CALM processes and workflows to ensure communication is maintained with all project teams and stakeholders using accurate and timely data for each activity. This role works with the CALM Team to prepare and distribute materials for workshops and meetings, coordinate activities, and streamline processes.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process new, revised, and updated forms for signatures
  • Distribute completed forms to internal and external contacts
  • Maintain and update agendas with new or revised information such as dates and permits, including expired permit dates
  • Coordinate stakeholder reviews and approvals
  • Maintain and update information to include all new, revised, and updated activities
  • Prepare and update agendas for each weekly workshop
  • Assist in managing CALM processes
  • Support Airport-wide program administration
  • Handle dashboard updates and reporting responsibilities
  • Coordinate training and contractor onboarding
  • Coordinate with City agencies and provide information to assist in the permit process
  • Request concurrence from LAWA subject matter experts and notify outside contractors of concurrence and any restrictions
  • Track and document concurrence requests and distribute notification of upcoming projects
  • Prepare presentations, collect and organize information for deliverables, and assist in tracking the daily deployment of multiple construction projects
  • Perform various duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of professional experience; a graduate degree may substitute for one year of experience
  • Problem solver with a strong ability to prioritize and switch gears in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working within the complexities of multiple agencies at all levels
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to share information and communicate effectively with team members
  • A general understanding of civil construction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Bluebeam
  • Ability to create dashboards, presentations, graphics, Gantt charts, and track multiple ongoing activities
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, aviation, business, engineering, construction management, planning, or other related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Relevant professional licensure and/or certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP)
  • Must pass a federal background check
