Construction Financial Analyst, Healthcare

About the role

The Construction Financial Analyst will report to and work closely with the Executive Director of Enterprise Masterplan and Planning, Design and Construction, the construction management team, purchasing, finance, and ISD to analyze and reconcile capital project finances and budgets. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple construction projects and large budgets ($100M+). Healthcare or related experience is a plus. A background in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Finance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and reconcile capital project finances and budgets
  • Collaborate with construction management, purchasing, finance, and ISD teams
  • Exercise independent judgement in financial decision-making
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Interpret and apply contract terms
  • Maintain strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Work independently with minimal supervision in varying environments
  • Set goals and evaluate results according to high standards
  • Promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission
  • Enforce policies assertively and consistently
  • Communicate positively, effectively, and professionally under pressure

Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years of cost accounting, budgeting, and construction accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (equivalent experience may be accepted)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and computerized financial systems
  • Ability to work in sedentary environments with occasional physical demands (lifting up to 15 lbs, pushing/pulling carts up to 20 lbs)
  • Flexibility and ingenuity in problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with construction project management software and enterprise business software
  • Experience utilizing Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI (or similar) for cost reporting
  • Knowledge of healthcare or related industry
  • Background in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Finance

Work Environment

  • Exposure to airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust, extreme noise/temperatures, radiation, and uneven surfaces
  • Sensory requirements: color discrimination, depth perception, far/near vision, hearing

Pay

Pay range: $78,229 – $129,085 (midpoint $103,667). Rate determined by knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, and position requirements.
