About the role
AACI is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful insights and wants to use their expertise to support a mission-driven organization serving the community. As our Financial Analyst, you’ll partner with programs and leadership to manage budgets, analyze financial performance, prepare forecasts, support contract and grant-related financial activities, and help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, dashboards, forecasts, and cost analyses.
- Perform monthly actual-to-budget variance analysis and identify key financial trends.
- Partner with program teams on budgets, financial reporting, revenue invoicing, and funder-related fiscal inquiries.
- Prepare reports involving general ledger activity, income statements, balance sheets, and trial balances.
- Prepare and submit monthly revenue invoices with required supporting documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and collection activity.
- Develop and present quarterly financial forecasts to management.
- Create annual budgets and budgets for new funding proposals and contracts.
- Support month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Identify and correct financial data discrepancies.
- Assist with annual audits and preparation of supporting financial documentation.
- Support additional financial projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Nonprofit, healthcare, government-funded, or grant-funded organization experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with contract billing, invoicing, and collections.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.
- Knowledge of governmental/fund accounting.
- Familiarity with cost accounting requirements under 2 CFR Part 200 and 45 CFR Part 75.
- Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software; Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
