Construction Coordinator II
Position Overview
AE Works is seeking a Construction Coordinator II to join our team. At AE Works, you will be responsible for contributing to the successful administration of contract documents by executing A/E duties for varied projects, including assembling and assisting with responses to contractor and owner inquiries during the build phase.
About the Role
Location: Pittsburgh, PA with travel to client and project sites.
Responsibilities
- Assists with AE Works construction administration activities, maintains awareness/knowledge of construction industry trends, and espouses an ownership mindset to support projects and engage with teams and clients.
- Maintains project documentation during the construction administration phase to meet contract requirements.
- Captures and coordinates construction administration efforts with the design team and maintains clear communication throughout the construction period.
- Participates in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, including progress observations, punch lists, creating and maintaining relevant construction phase reports, and reviewing construction schedules.
- Coordinates technical resolution of construction issues with your discipline manager internally and engages the A/E design team as needed to resolve items.
- Reviews construction progress with your discipline manager, in terms of schedule and quality, as well as facilitates conversations and coordination with design professionals during construction administration.
- Organize and assist with facilitating construction administration reviews – including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders – while conferring with your discipline manager and design professionals, with direct interaction with the Owner and Contractor.
- Assist with and participate in construction reviews across Site/Civil, Architecture, Interior Design, Mechanical, Electrical/Systems, and Plumbing/Fire Protection systems.
- Assist with review and updates to construction schedules, including prioritizing reviews for elements on the critical path.
- Communicate clearly and consistently, building strong relationships with team members and clients.
- Utilize cloud-based and mobile technology platforms for project collaboration and construction administration.
Qualifications
- What’s Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Business; associate's degrees with directly relevant experience will be considered
- 2–5 years of progressive experience on building construction projects as a construction administrator or in a similar role; professional internship experience will be considered
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Suite
- Hands-on experience with construction management platforms such as ACC Build, Procore, or Trimble/eBuilder
- Familiarity with scheduling software and construction costs, including change order reviews and/or pay applications
- Organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined; independently prioritizes and executes concurrent tasks with accuracy and consistency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with reliable delivery of high-quality work
