About the role

Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Apply company standards and ensure contractor activities are planned and executed safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with construction contractors to plan and coordinate daily field and construction tasks and logistical activities.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for all contractor activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contract milestones, completion dates, and other on-site activities to identify conflicts or potential delays.
  • Develop work-around plans to mitigate conflicts or delays in collaboration with other construction coordinators.
  • Maintain a commitment to a zero-accidents environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
  • Ability to engage with customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.
  • Ability to handle stress with poise.
  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.
  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members.
  • Ability to set priorities and deliver excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good presentation and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs, and hard hat.

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
