About the role
Visit project sites at intervals determined for each project to observe construction and attend meetings. Document the construction progress with field reports and meeting minutes. Facilitate the flow of construction related information in the SOBE office.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct meetings as directed.
- Perform facility assessments and predesign observations.
- Support responses to RFI's and assist with change order analysis.
- Attend transition meetings, pre-construction conferences, and ongoing construction meetings.
- Travel to project sites and observe construction for compliance with contract documents.
- Evaluate workmanship, quality of installations, and progress of work, including stored materials.
- Manage and track RFIs and CORs, ensuring timely responses and maintaining project status awareness.
- Prepare detailed field reports and maintain thorough construction documentation in accordance with SOBE standards.
- Maintain knowledge of project throughout the construction process.
- Monitor scope changes, contractor-maintained as-built drawings, and overall project progress.
- Review and recommend pay applications and coordinate communication among project stakeholders.
- Schedule and conduct site visits, verify correction of deficiencies, and document corrective actions.
- Support project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and collection of closeout documents.
- Provide design support through site assessments, field investigations, and documentation.
Requirements
5+ years of related experience in a consulting engineering environment.
Qualifications
- Settle disputes, handle complaints, resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others.
- Cooperate and coordinate with other members of your team, architects and owners.
- Give and follow directions.
- Recognize ways to adjust ones actions to lower costs for the firm.
- Demonstrate knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction.
- Demonstrate knowledge of construction industry in relation to costing/scheduling.
- General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.

Benefits
The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
