Principal Responsibilities
- Review project scope, budget, and contracted services requirements
- Meet with operations, project management, and design team members to confirm project expectations and the Construction Administrator’s role
- Prepare work schedules and time projections, and coordinate assigned work with the Construction Supervisor and design engineers
- Review and interpret contract documents with contractors, obtain needed input from design engineers, and issue reports regarding project deficiencies
- Collect data, review change orders with the design engineer, and support preparation of project closeout documents
- Confer with the architect on construction coordination issues between architectural and engineering design, and document related events and circumstances
- Attend construction progress meetings as required by the service contract and report proceedings
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree (Science) or Associate Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
- 6 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry OR Associates degree, or certificate, in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- 10 years of experience minimum required, 14 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
- Must be familiar with design processes and interpretation of architectural and engineering design documents
- Knowledge of design and construction techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans and drawings
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and structures
- Field experience or skilled trades a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Able to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Able to travel 10-30% with occasional overnight stays
