About the Role
The Conservatory Instructor at The Academy of Classical Christian Studies plays a vital role in delivering quality fine arts education. Instructors are expected to act as Christian role models, fostering students' growth in both their relationship with God and their musical or artistic discipline. This position involves teaching private lessons, managing student schedules, and contributing to the overall mission and culture of the school.
Responsibilities
- Accept responsibility for the enrollment, training, practice, and supervision of students.
- Demonstrate loyalty to the Fine Arts Department and work cooperatively with assistants and other department personnel.
- Serve through the entire school year, valuing every student as God’s image bearer, regardless of ability.
- Assist the Fine Arts Director in selecting and monitoring assistant instructors.
- Collect and maintain appropriate paperwork, forms, and fees.
- Assist in scheduling special events where private lesson students will perform.
- Provide clear, consistent communication to students and families regarding rehearsal, performance schedules, and other private lesson matters.
- Manage private lesson schedules and provide makeup lessons in accordance with department policies.
- Be present and on time for all events, including rehearsals, unless excused or in case of an emergency.
- Supervise students during all rehearsals, performances, and events until the building and facilities are secured afterward.
- Maintain responsibility for performance facilities used by the program.
- Attend periodically scheduled meetings with the Fine Arts Director for program development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and Fine Arts Department activities that promote growth.
- Produce an excellent private lesson experience while upholding the school’s mission and culture.
- Actively promote The Academy Fine Arts Department within the district and surrounding community.
- Inventory, issue, and collect all equipment used in the private lesson experience.
- Coordinate with local vendors to facilitate student rentals or purchases of necessary materials for private lessons.
