About the role

The Supervisor will assist the management team, oversee team members within a specific department, satellite location, or store in the absence of upper management, and deliver exceptional customer service to the academic community. This is a part-time position requiring availability on a weekly basis year-round, with schedules that may be set or vary to meet store needs.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of time on the sales floor coaching and modeling exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all store departments to support customers and team members.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating to management when necessary.
• Assist in daily store operations and act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
• Assign work and provide direction to team members to manage and accomplish multiple projects.
• Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, and trash removal.

Physical Demands

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers with products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Part-time Supervisor pay range: $19.00/hour (Connecticut stores only).
