About the Role

The Conformal Coat Lead is responsible for organizing and motivating an assigned area of the Production team, communicating issues to the supervisor/manager, and ensuring quality, workflow, and efficiency. This role assists the production supervisor/manager in all functions and supports the manufacturing and business requirements of the Division. The position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supervisor/manager to establish a balanced workload.
• Ensure daily and weekly production schedules are met.
• Manage schedules for specific products.
• Attend production meetings as required.
• Oversee and perform administrative duties in the absence of the supervisor.
• Provide feedback on process issues or failures.
• Adapt to quick changes in schedules, customer jobs, and other unforeseen circumstances.
• Highlight material shortages and interface with stockroom and planning on material issues.
• Visually inspect work in progress for epoxy, masking, and conformal coating defects; make adjustments as needed.
• Assign operators where needed to meet production schedules.
• Provide training and cross-training of employees; support and assist personnel in performing duties.
• Maintain a high degree of quality in all work performed.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of all manufacturing areas (6S).
• Review assigned work center for potential cost savings.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
• Act as first responder to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Perform production activities when necessary to meet goals or as a short-term substitute operator.
• Responsible for conformal coat processes utilizing automated equipment and hand assembly.
• Perform routine equipment setup, operation, and adjustment.
• Ensure processes and equipment remain within company manufacturing standards.
• Perform processes and apply consumables to the highest industry (IPC) standards.
• Complete all units within the work order; follow through to completion for any NCMR/DMR.
• Perform all other assigned duties within the production organization.

Requirements

• Good English skills: ability to read, write, and speak clearly.
• Ability to understand printed circuit board construction, including reading assembly drawings, bill of materials, and written manufacturing assembly instructions.
• Knowledge of electronic component orientation and part numbers.
• Understand rules and requirements for proper handling of electronic components, including Electrostatic Static Discharge (ESD).
• Ability to pass an eye exam with a minimum 20/20 vision (corrected via eyeglasses or contact lenses); annual eye exam required.
• Understanding of printed circuit board manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret essential build documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel and work professionally with little supervision.
• Computer skills with a good working knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Good reading vision; ability to sit/stand for up to 10 hours daily.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, and be flexible to work weekends as needed.
• Ability to work extra hours at the company’s request is mandatory.
• Regular attendance is an essential job function for this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1 year of technical-related experience in an electronics production environment or equivalent.
• Preferred: Previous experience leading and directing a team, as well as experience with training others.

• Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.
• Ability to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
• Recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.
• Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).
• Understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.
• Manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
