Location: Tallahassee, FL | Full-time regular position
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement academic conferences, instructional camps, institutes, and meetings as assigned.
- Manage programs and events by collaborating with CAPD’s support services, including registration staff, fiscal staff, and facility set-up crews.
- Coordinate event logistics such as registration, attendee tracking, presentations, materials, catering vendors, parking, permits, equipment, signage, seating arrangements, name tags, and special requests.
- Implement conferencing policies and administrative/fiscal procedures for events, program registrations, and workshops.
- Monitor and track program budgets.
- Serve as a conferencing liaison with fiscal and registration staff.
- Handle OMNI financial transactions.
- Negotiate event contracts with internal and external FSU clients.
- Work with projected budgets, negotiate contracts, establish and manage contractual agreements, and oversee the contract approval process.
- Engage extensively with new and potential clients to promote the Center’s programs, facilities, and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of relevant experience (a combination of post-high school education and experience totaling six years is acceptable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of event planning experience, including coordination, management, and organization of conferences, programs, workshops, and events.
- Knowledge of and experience in preparing and negotiating contracts.
- Experience with accounting and/or budgeting.
- Experience with client management.
- Strong customer service skills.
Pay
Anticipated starting salary: $44,056.00.
Schedule
Flexible schedule, including some early mornings, weeknights, and weekends as required by event schedules.
