About the Role
Perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition in support of the processing and sale of client vehicles in the lane and online.
Responsibilities
- Verify vehicle identification.
- Identify and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, and Trim Lines.
- Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, and mechanical components.
- Document and estimate vehicle damages.
- Take photographs as needed to support and complete reports or as necessary on sales days.
- Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed.
- Review and document odometer information.
- Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame.
- Assess mechanical condition of the vehicle, documenting issues found during the condition report process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Post-high school training in damage assessment is preferred.
- Background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred.
Skills
- Ability to operate a computer, laptop, or tablet (iPad preferred).
- Ability to write reports in a professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of vehicles.
- Ability to utilize standardized lists to assign costs for damage.
- Ability to learn job-specific computer programs.
- Able to digitally photograph vehicles and upload photos to a computer.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through on tasks to completion.
- Able to communicate well both in person and in writing.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize duties.
- Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Must be able and willing to perform visual frame inspections underneath vehicles.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
- Able to work outside in any weather conditions.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
