Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition in support of processing and selling client vehicles both in-lane and online
  • Verify vehicle identification and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, and Trim Lines
  • Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, and mechanical components
  • Document and estimate vehicle damages
  • Take photographs to support and complete reports or as necessary on sales days
  • Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed
  • Review and document odometer information
  • Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame
  • Assess mechanical condition of vehicles and document issues found during the condition report process
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; post-high school training in damage assessment preferred
  • Background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Able to work outside in any weather conditions
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
  • Must be able to follow through on tasks to completion
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize duties
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to communicate well both in person and in writing
  • Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Must be able and willing to perform visual frame inspections underneath vehicles

Skills

  • Ability to operate a computer, laptop, or tablet (iPad preferred)
  • Ability to write reports in a professional manner
  • Basic knowledge of vehicles
  • Ability to utilize standardized lists to assign costs for damage
  • Ability to learn job-specific computer programs
  • Able to digitally photograph vehicles and upload photos to a computer
